Soaring oil price 狂飆的油價

The oil price is getting higher and higher. The price has already hit the new high of the history in Taiwan so far, yet I know it will hit another new high in the next few weeks. Am I angry about that? No, it’s already a fact in the world. Last year, when we traveled in Europe, we had already seen the real expensive fuel price there. Therefore, trying to save more money is a must do exercise for me and for other people in Taiwan.

I usually drive to work five times a week. The distance of the drive is about 90 kilometers. It’s a long distance. As the result, to save energy expenditure for me is a necessary lesson.

These tips I learn from TV or other regarded materials.

First is slowly speeding up and slowly pressing the break. Do not speed quickly and press the break heavily. Changing gear too often is a waste. So be patient  is a really important lesson for drivers.

Second ,“cruise control ”is also a way to make oil more efficiency when drive on the flat road . However, driving up or down on the slope, “cruise control” is not a good action to save money.

Third, keep the four tires pressure in a good range and remember pump your tires regularily. The choice of tires is also meaning to car drivers.

Fourth, roll down the widow while you drive on ordinary road. By the contrast, be sure to close the widow to lower the wind resistance while drive on the highway.

Fifth, keep light. Do not put too many heavy things in the car. The more load on the car, the more oil you spend.

Sixth, auto maintenance is also important to keep engine more efficiency. When I started to drive, my dad always warmed me. When you drive around 5000 kilometers, you must let your car accept the auto care. Don’t be mean to your car care, changing apparatus is also essential.

Seventh, avoid engine running idle. If you know you will wait for more than five minutes. Turn off the engine.

Eighth, find a shade to park your car because the heat inside the car will zap your fuel from the oil tank.

To the conclusion, save fuel expenditure is a big agenda for people who live in the world. From the OPEC statistics shown, the price of oil per barrier won’t decrease until the end of the year. Doing those tips above may become a routine work some day.

Parttime job, pros or cons?

This is a dilemma question for students and their parents. Some of Taiwanese parents won’t accept their children to find a partime job instead of paying attention on their study. Some parents encourage their children to find a partime job in order to accumulate more social experiences; otherwise, they could also earn some money for themselves.

From my own experience, in early twenties, my parents refused me to find a partime job when I was a junior college student. Therefore, I envied my classmates who could find a short term job in small clinics because they had their own money through one or two months working in the clinics and they could put their skills and knowledge into practice. As the result, when it comes to skill training class, I seldom get good marks through those classes; it was really frustrating to me.

However, while I studied in university, I found a partime job in a language center. It really brought me a lot of fun and learnt a lot experiences about English teaching. In the daytime, I pay most of my time on studying in university; in the night time I became an English teacher. With the two occupations at that time, I knew I was really busy but I did really happy. My first partime job did not interrupt my study; surprisingly, I still did very well on all courses I took. Besides, I could earn my own salary to pay my approximately ten thousand dollars insurance fee while I was a student. Because of partime job, I also learnt time management. It really helped me handle the day job and night job. Because of my outfit about dealing with the two jobs really well, therefore, my father did not against me to do my job.

From my experience, I really suggest students should find a partime job while being a student. To the extent of this issue, there are two advantages as follow. One is socialization and the other is time management. Socialization means students could gain more social skills through getting along with colleagues, directors. Even in the small cram school, around 100 students, it is like a small society. You still could learn something, for example, administration system, money management, students’ emotional problems. The most important is patient. The longer you work as a partime staff, the more you learn through students, their parents and your nagging directors. Moreover, time management is also important object to learn.  In the real working environment, staffs usually have to accept plenty of orders or works in a day. Deciding what to do first is a must learn lesson to everybody especially in Taiwan because Taiwan is such competitive society that everybody have to use their time perfectly in order to make the best efficiency effect of time management.

Through partime job, I think it will be a great help for most of students. But I still insist that every student should both handle their study and patime job well to make a win-win result. In contrast, if students couldn’t handle the two job well, I believe it will become a disaster to school life.

The bread isn't what I want

Everything has been becoming more expensive in Taiwan. I knew it is a tendency. But how about quality? Does the quality go with the increasing price?

I was very disappointed about the bakery which is located in B2 of ShinKong Mitsukoshi Department where I bought a loaf of bread. The last time I bought this bread was a year ago. Half loaf of bread cost 45 dollars one year ago but now a loaf of bread cost 60 dollars. From the appearance, it became thinner but longer. But the weight and inside ingredients went terribly wrong.

The first bite of the bread made me give up buying this bread anymore. Second bite, I swear I won’t go into that bakery again. I shared the terrible experience with my junior high students and told them some tactics about business. Doing business in Taiwan has to concern customers’ psychology and figure out what they want. However, I found more and more shops or stores do not keep their best quality when their business go pretty well. Some of shop runners pursuit to make more profits instead of keeping good qualities to their loyal customers. As the result of fact, these business strategies usually force their customers to keep away from those shops.

Nightmare, analysis

It has been my biggest nightmare recently! Writing one hundred and fifty words article about these analysis articles as follows:

(1)   line graph 曲線圖

(2)   pie chart 圓餅圖

(3)   bar chart 長條圖

(4)   table 表格

To understand what these items are and try figure out what the information behind the four items I mention above is the most important mission for me.

Due to no clue about those things, I asked help form my professor when I studied in Chang Jung.  I went her apartment on typhoon day. Along the way there, strong wind, heavy rain could not put off my desire.

Thanks for her great help. Spending two hours teaching me, and so I knew some tips about writing analytic articles and ransacking out the information behind those graphs.

However, I found myself the more I read, the nervous I became. When I saw those four graphs, one thing came into mind right away, “topic sentence, topic sentence.”

I have to try find some methods to sooth myself or I will go crazy.

Made in China of Name Brand (famous brand)

Buy or not to buy? That's a really question.

I read a piece of information about "Made in China" from yahoo news website

Nowaday, there are more and more products which were made in China

It needless to say, in our daily life, we cannot avoid buying things which were produced in mainland

However, the statistics show quality of control in China is not pursuasive for consumers to buy

While we wonder buy or not to buy items from China, a lot of sectors affect our desireness of buying.

Because of the quality control, the residue of toxic, and other added chemicals ...... and so on always make us hesitate

To buy or not to buy, that's a question.

Though we usually must buy things' label "China", because almost every product in Taiwan market is made from Chinese labor

The differences of the same products such as earphones for consumers to buy depend on different companies' name

The quesiton i read  from the piece of information is "well-know brand"

If you were a super rich person, and you walked into a LV or Hermes for example

You want to buy a hard leather briefcase , and it costs 1000 Ponds, but when you turn to the tag and you found it is made in CHINA

Will you buy it? I am  suspicious.

The exchange currency rate of 1000 ponds is 66000NTD

To me, that's a big buck

I think i will find a leather bag master to make a  brefcase for me

That's the only one for me, and it's the most unique in the world

Back to the topic. We sometimes buy things on our feeling and emotion

When you see items "Made in China" or "Made in Italy";  which one would you buy?

Anyway, sooner or later, we may see more and more products whose name "Coach", "Armani" ... those luxury products pervade in Taiwan brand shop and their tag shows "unaffordable price" and YES "Made in China"
