The B&B breakfast was really nice and I was really lucky to sit with three guys from Edinburgh . Because of them, I can start to listen to the strong accent English. Their accent is really strong and it causes me have to ask them to repeat during speaking. We talk a lot and they also taught me the background knowledge about pool. One of them is a professional player but he was knocked out by another player better than him yesterday. I felt so sorry for him. Beside pool, he is also a big fan of football. While he shared his favorite football player and team, his girlfriend gave me “You again.” wink to demonstrate her unhappiness.
I left B&B around 9: 40. While I listened to my mobile music, I heard something like bagpipe music from far away. I hurried myself down the slope and I was really excited to see a lot of people in traditional kilts and wear bagpipe. I have never expected to see that when I was in Inverness on first day. I gave up my first plan to Information Center at once and turn to spend the whole morning chasing those kilt people. Besides chasing them, I really want to know why they are here. I asked a lot of people but nobody could provide the correct answer until I arrived at a church and met a old gentleman kindly giving me correct answer. It was a special ceremony for new council members who were elected. To celebrate heir jobs’ beginning and the city council decided to have a parade. The ceremony gathered lots of field professionals and teens to celebrate. There was a really gentleman in the parade and he is such a man that I thought I might see him in 18th century novel.
In order to understand more about the celebration, I chatted with locals and it was a good chance for me to practice English. People here are really warm and love to talk with me. Working as a nurse long ago also brought me several advantages such as I could use it as the beginning to have a talk with two British Red Cross staff and they were so generous and shared everything they have and we also shared the different medical system.
Inverness is really small city, and I only spent 30 minutes to circulate the whole city. Therefore, I decided to take a walk into Ness Island . Along the river side, the scenery was really great whereas the temperature was really low, around 10 Celsius degrees. I had to keep myself walking in order to keep myself warm. In addition to the low temperature, the wind here is really strong in the city. When I came back to B&B, I found myself with headache. OH, MY GOD!
People in red are new member, and I think the dark one should be the head.
The two are Red Cross member of UK. They are really kind and lovely. The guy is quite handsome, isn't it?
