@ Manchester- Newcastle

It was a really depressing day because it rained quite heavily and I had to carry my 25 kg luggage to Newcastle to visit my professor and left it at his home. My breakfast was as usual, milk tea and three pieces of toast with jam. After the breakfast, I jumped on 8 o’clock bus to Piccadilly Rail Way and I think it was a good start because I saw a young, handsome bus driver with warm smile to welcoming every passenger. On this shit weather, meeting this kind bus driver is really great even though there was an Asian woman without patience on the bus because she was not very friendly to the bus driver but it did not affect my good mood. However, my good mood did not last long because there were some problems with the bus and  all  passengers on this bus had to switch to another bus.

From Manchester to Newcastle  took 2 hours and thirty minutes, it passed lots of famous cities, like Leeds and  York . But the most impressed one is Durham , a small but really lovely and green town. When I arrived in Newcastle , I gave a call to my teacher and tried to buy a metro ticket. The metro system and Taipei Muji line are the same, but Newcastle ’s is more stable than Taipei ’s. It cost me 2.7 pounds to buy a round-trip to Benton . It was really great and happy to meet a person I have known for years in the UK . Even it rained, but I was still quite happy to have a talk with my professor. He treated me a nice lunch and shared everything in the UK . Because of him, I think I may have a happy student life in near future.

On my way back to Manchester , I met a strange guy on the train. He just couldn’t stop moving his hands or playing lighter. Every time he moved, I could see the gentleman who sat in front of me just stared him and paid attention on the strange guy’s behaviors. Luckily, the strange stayed there around twenty minutes and moved to another compartment. Maybe I am a little scared about something bad would happen but I just could not stop thinking about it because the knife crime is really serious in UK . Plus, I used to have a terrible experience when I was in the UK six years ago. As the result, I see strange guys near around and then I will keep alert immediately and leave very quickly.

By the way, there was one thing funny I found about the bus system. The switch shift of bus drivers was really interesting to me because it is different form Taiwan . The bus driver may drive to the nearest driver’s home bus stop and they exchange. In Taiwan , we may see this in bus station.

PS: I am leaving for Inverness tomorrow. I am not sure when I could use the internet.
